Known as The Oppidum, the world’s largest bunker is a mansion spanning over 30,000 square meters and is located on an old military base near Prague, in the Czech Republic. It’s where the wealthiest can take refuge in the event of a nuclear disaster. Yes, you read that right.

The house has a secret corridor that provides access to the underground complex designed for shelter during wars and disasters.
Just this underground part has a pool, spa, wine cellar, cinema, library, restaurant, bar, gym, sauna, game room, winter garden with simulated sunlight, conference room, safes, a fully-equipped infirmary capable of surgeries, and a command center to communicate with the outside world.
Security features include biometric and iris identification, as well as high-tech video surveillance.
The construction of the gigantic bunker began during the Cold War, in 1984, and took 10 years to complete. According to Mirror, the bunker inhabitants can survive disasters or even power outages for up to 10 years.
The name of the bunker comes from the Latin op-pedum (oppidum, in Portuguese), a term used to describe European fortresses of the Roman Empire.
The spokesperson for The Oppidum said: “The bunker will be able to provide long-term accommodation for residents – up to 10 years if necessary – without the need for supplies from outside the site.”
“This involves large-scale stocks of water and non-perishable food, as well as water purification equipment, medical supplies, and communication networks.”
